Catalog Solution

The architecture of Catalog Solution is designed to integrate seamlessly with the z/OS environment. The main components include the Catalog Backup and Restore Engine, the Catalog Analysis and Repair Engine, the Reporting Module, and the Command Processor. The Backup and Restore Engine is responsible for creating and restoring catalog backups.

It utilizes z/OS system services for data access and storage. The Analysis and Repair Engine performs catalog integrity checks and repairs, using internal algorithms to identify and correct catalog errors. The Reporting Module generates reports on catalog status, activity, and performance, providing insights into catalog health.

The Command Processor is the interface for user interaction, interpreting commands and coordinating the actions of the other components. Communication between components is primarily through z/OS system calls and internal interfaces. Data is stored in z/OS datasets, leveraging the underlying storage infrastructure.

There are no external APIs. The solution relies on z/OS security, such as RACF, for authentication and access control. All operations are logged to z/OS system logs, providing a comprehensive audit trail.
