Product Overview
The Enigma-HSM architecture comprised several key components. The Data Management component handled backup, restore, and migration operations, interacting with z/OS datasets and storage volumes. The Policy Engine enforced user-defined storage and retention policies, controlling data lifecycle management.
The Reporting Module generated reports on storage utilization, backup status, and system performance. Communication between components occurred via z/OS system calls and dataset I/O. The product did not expose any APIs.
Configuration was managed through system datasets and control statements. The CLI provided access to all functions. The product's design focused on providing automated data management and recovery capabilities within the z/OS environment.
Since Enigma-HSM is not supported, users should review the architecture of replacement products.
