POLISY

POLISY is an insurance application designed for the z/OS environment. Its architecture comprises several key components: the Policy Administration System (PAS), responsible for managing policy lifecycles; the Claims Processing System (CPS), handling claims from submission to settlement; the Customer Information System (CIS), providing a central repository for customer data; and potentially a Billing System (BILL), managing premium payments and invoicing. Administration is performed through TSO/ISPF or a web console. Competing products like Guidewire and Duck Creek offer different architectural approaches, often based on distributed systems, while POLISY leverages the strengths of the mainframe environment. Monitoring is achieved through SMF records and system logs, providing detailed insights into system performance and security events.
