The architecture of apXplore-CICS is centered around key components designed to facilitate robust integration between CICS applications and MQ on z/OS. The CICS Interface acts as the primary point of interaction with CICS transactions, handling the initiation and termination of message processing. The MQ Adapter is responsible for managing communication with the MQ server, including sending and receiving messages using the MQ API.

The Transaction Manager ensures the integrity of transactions, coordinating the flow of messages and maintaining data consistency. The Configuration Manager provides a centralized interface for defining and managing system settings, such as MQ queue names, connection parameters, and transaction mappings. Communication between components is primarily handled through internal interfaces and APIs.

The system uses the MQ protocol for communication. Data storage is managed within the MQ queues and CICS transaction data. Network requirements include connectivity to the MQ server, typically using standard ports for MQ communication.

Security is enforced through CICS security mechanisms, including RACF, and encryption is supported via SSL/TLS. Monitoring is available through the CICS console and system logs.
