Auto-MPF

The Auto-MPF architecture is centered around the z/VSE console and its ability to monitor and respond to system messages. The core components include the Message Monitor, Rule Engine, Action Processor, and Configuration Manager. The Message Monitor captures console messages, which are then passed to the Rule Engine.

The Rule Engine evaluates these messages against a set of predefined rules. These rules are defined using a specific syntax and stored in configuration files. When a rule is triggered, the Action Processor executes the corresponding action, such as issuing a command or sending a notification.

The Configuration Manager provides an interface for managing rules, system parameters, and logging settings. Communication between components occurs within the z/VSE environment using native system calls. There are no external APIs.

The system relies on the z/VSE security model for authentication and access control. The logging system records all actions and events for auditing and troubleshooting. The design prioritizes efficiency and reliability within the z/VSE environment.
