The architecture of BMC AMI Ops for CICS comprises several key components: the Data Collector, the Data Server, and the User Interface. The Data Collector resides within the z/OS environment and gathers performance data from CICS regions using native interfaces. This component is responsible for collecting real-time metrics such as transaction response times, CPU utilization, and storage usage.
The Data Server is a central component that stores and processes the data collected by the Data Collector. It uses a relational database for storing historical data, enabling trend analysis and reporting. The User Interface provides access to the monitoring data and administrative functions.
It allows users to view real-time dashboards, generate reports, and configure alerts. Communication between the Data Collector and the Data Server occurs over TCP/IP. The User Interface also communicates with the Data Server over TCP/IP.
The product supports REST APIs for integration with other systems. API endpoints follow a standard pattern, and methods include GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE for data retrieval and manipulation. Supported protocols include HTTP and HTTPS.
The product integrates with existing security infrastructure, supporting RACF for authentication and access control. The product uses configuration files for defining monitoring parameters and thresholds. These files are typically managed through the product's administrative interfaces.
