Product Overview

The architecture of CPLEX Optimizer is designed for high performance and scalability. The core component is the CPLEX solver, which implements advanced algorithms for solving various optimization problems. The solver supports linear programming (LP), mixed-integer programming (MIP), quadratic programming (QP), and quadratically constrained programming (QCP).

The Concert Technology library provides a high-level API for model building, allowing developers to create and manipulate optimization models using object-oriented programming techniques. This API simplifies the process of defining variables, constraints, and objectives. The CPLEX Callable Library offers a lower-level interface, providing more control over the solver's behavior and allowing for custom integrations.

Communication between components is primarily through function calls and data structures. The solver reads model data from various file formats, including LP, MPS, and SAV. Configuration files and environment variables are used to control solver parameters and behavior.

The command-line interface (CLI) provides a way to execute solver commands and manage configuration settings. NET enable integration with other applications. The system does not use a specific database for storing model data, but rather relies on in-memory data structures and file-based input/output.

Network requirements are minimal, as the solver typically runs locally. Security relies on the operating system's user and group permissions.
