Database Integrity Plus

The architecture of Database Integrity Plus is centered on the z/OS operating system, designed to operate within the IMS environment. The main components include the DISASM module, responsible for disassembling control blocks (DBD, PSB, ACB); the MAP module, which generates formatted maps of the control blocks; and the COMPARE module, used for comparing different versions of control blocks to identify discrepancies. These components interact through batch jobs and ISPF dialogs.

The product does not expose any APIs. Data storage relies on standard z/OS datasets, including partitioned datasets (PDS) and sequential datasets. There are no specific databases or storage mechanisms used beyond the z/OS file system.

The primary interface is ISPF, providing a user-friendly environment for executing commands and viewing results. The product does not have any specific network requirements or port dependencies. User management is handled through z/OS security mechanisms, such as RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret.

Configuration parameters are specified in JCL and dataset definitions, allowing for flexible customization. Monitoring and logging are integrated with z/OS SMF (System Management Facilities) and system logs, providing comprehensive audit trails. The product does not support any specific authentication methods.

Access control is managed through z/OS security, ensuring that only authorized users can access and modify control blocks. Encryption is not a feature of the product. Audit trails are provided through z/OS logging and SMF records, enabling detailed tracking of all operations.
