Datamaker for Mainframe

Datamaker for Mainframe is an architecture component designed to facilitate test data management within mainframe environments. It provides a centralized solution for creating, masking, and subsetting data from various sources, including DB2, IMS, ADABAS, and VSAM. The architecture typically involves a central server component that manages data connections, masking rules, and subsetting criteria.

This server interacts with mainframe data sources to extract, transform, and load data into test environments. Key components include the Data Connection Manager, which handles connections to different data sources; the Masking Engine, which applies masking rules to sensitive data; and the Subset Engine, which creates smaller, representative subsets of data. These components communicate through internal APIs and message queues.

Datamaker for Mainframe integrates with mainframe security systems such as RACF, ACF2, and Top Secret for authentication and authorization. It also exposes APIs for integrating with other mainframe tools and systems, such as test automation frameworks and data integration platforms. The system typically runs within an LPAR on z/OS or zVSE/VSEn.
