EZ-Test for IDMS

The architecture of EZ-Test for IDMS comprised several key components designed to facilitate date simulation within a CA IDMS environment on z/OS. The core components included the command processor, the date simulation engine, and the IDMS interface. The command processor served as the primary interface, accepting commands from users via the command-line interface (CLI).

These commands were then parsed and executed. The date simulation engine was responsible for applying the date changes. This engine utilized configuration files to determine the specific date offsets and masks to be applied.

The IDMS interface provided the necessary connectivity to the CA IDMS database. The product did not expose any APIs. The communication between these components was primarily internal, with the command processor coordinating the execution of commands and the application of date changes by the date simulation engine.

The product is no longer supported and has been merged into EZ-DB for IDMS. Users should migrate to EZ-DB for IDMS. The product relied on the z/OS environment for security, including user authentication and access control.

The product did not provide encryption capabilities. The product did not have built-in audit logging. Auditing was handled through the z/OS system, which logged user activities and system events.
