The Help4CICS architecture comprises three main components: the Help4CICS Manager, the Help4CICS Viewer, and the Help4CICS Repository. The Manager is a user interface for creating and managing help content. The Viewer provides the runtime access to the help information within the CICS environment.
The Repository stores the help content and configuration data in VSAM datasets. Communication between the Manager and the Repository occurs through VSAM file I/O operations. The Viewer accesses the Repository to retrieve and display help content based on user requests.
Security is managed through CICS security features, including user profiles and resource definitions. The system integrates with CICS logging and auditing. The configuration parameters, such as the location of the help repository and transaction IDs, are stored in VSAM datasets.
The system does not expose external APIs. The architecture is designed for ease of use and integration within the CICS environment.
