Product Overview

The architecture of Ivory Service Architect is centered around two main components: Ivory Studio and Ivory Server. Ivory Studio is a development environment used to create web services from mainframe resources. It generates WSDL files and facilitates the definition of data mappings.

Ivory Server is the runtime environment, comprising a SOAP processor, a business services flow processor, and a central repository for WSDL. Communication between components occurs through standard protocols such as HTTP and SOAP. The system uses a central repository for storing WSDL definitions.

The SOAP processor handles incoming SOAP requests, and the business services flow processor orchestrates the execution of business logic. The administrative interface provides access to configuration settings, logs, and performance metrics. Security features include support for various authentication methods and audit logging.

Compared to IBM z/OS Connect, Ivory Service Architect offers a more streamlined approach to web service creation, reducing the need for extensive coding. The product's design emphasizes ease of use and efficient integration with mainframe systems. Example API endpoint: /services/MyService.

Example command: StartServer.
