Libra

Libra is a library management solution architected for zVSE/VSEn environments, focusing on efficient and secure management of library members. The architecture is tightly integrated with zVSE/VSEn, utilizing VSE's native file system and security mechanisms. Key components include the command processor, library management routines, and the VSE security interface.

These components communicate through standard VSE system calls and data access methods. Libra does not expose standard APIs like REST or SOAP; integration is achieved through batch processing and VSE control statements. Configuration parameters are set via VSE control statements, controlling library access, security settings, and operational behavior.

User management is handled through the VSE security system. The system leverages the zVSE/VSEn security system for authentication, supporting standard VSE authentication methods. Access control is based on VSE security profiles and RACF, using an ACL model.

Libra provides audit logging of all library modifications, stored within the VSE system. Monitoring is performed using standard VSE monitoring tools and system logs. ASM,LIBRARY=SRCLIB`, `MOVE`, `DELETE`, and `LIST` are executed via the command-line interface (CLI).
