The architecture of PIE/CICS NetGate comprises several key components designed for seamless CICS-VTAM integration. The product utilizes TCP/IP and SNA protocols for communication. Configuration files define connections, security settings, and logging options. The NetGate Gateway interacts with CICS through the CICS API, allowing CICS applications to initiate and manage VTAM sessions.
Security is implemented through authentication methods such as RACF, and an access control model based on user roles. Data encryption is supported during transmission. The system uses VSAM for storing configuration data and logs.
The administrative interface includes a CLI and monitoring tools. The `START NETGATE` command initiates the gateway, and the `DISPLAY NETGATE` command shows the status. The architecture is designed for high availability and scalability, with support for multiple gateways and redundant connections.
