The QMF architecture consists of several key components. The QMF Engine is responsible for processing SQL queries and managing the execution of reports and charts. The Data Server handles database connections and interactions with the Db2 database.
The User Interface provides the means for users to interact with QMF, including query creation, report generation, and chart creation. Communication between components typically occurs over TCP/IP. The QMF Engine interacts with the Data Server to retrieve data from the Db2 database.
The User Interface communicates with the QMF Engine to submit queries and receive results. The product uses Db2 databases for data storage, and network connectivity is essential for communication between components. The architecture supports various interfaces, including TSO and CICS for z/OS, an Eclipse-based interface for Windows, and a web browser interface for QMF for WebSphere.
