Rocket Cortex-PDB

The architecture of Cortex-PDB is centered around a relational database that stores metadata related to batch jobs, including job definitions, dependencies, and execution parameters. Key components include the PDB database itself, Cortex-RE for data population, Cortex-Plan and Cortex-Prep for JCL generation and process flow management, and a Windows GUI for job stream monitoring. Data population is performed using Cortex-RE, which extracts data from various sources and loads it into the PDB database.

Cortex-Plan and Cortex-Prep use the data stored in the PDB to generate JCL and manage job execution sequences. The Windows GUI provides a user interface for monitoring job streams and managing the system. Communication between components occurs through z/OS system services and database interactions.

The database uses standard SQL for data storage and retrieval. Network requirements include connectivity to the z/OS system and the database server. Configuration involves setting up database connections, defining job parameters, and configuring security settings.

Monitoring and logging are provided through the GUI and system logs, which capture job execution details and system events.
