Product Overview
The architecture of CLEO Transaction Processor consists of several key components. The Transaction Engine is the core component, responsible for converting data between 3270 screen formats and XML. The Transaction Designer is a graphical tool used to define transaction mappings, specifying how 3270 screen fields are mapped to XML elements and vice versa.
The system uses XML-based configuration files to store connection details, data mappings, and other settings. Communication between the Transaction Engine and the 3270 host occurs over TCP/IP. The system can interact with databases to store and retrieve data.
The administrative interface includes a command-line interface (CLI) for managing the system and a GUI for monitoring and configuration. User management is handled through the operating system's security features. The system supports logging for auditing and troubleshooting.
The system's design allows for scalability and high availability, making it suitable for enterprise-level deployments. The Transaction Engine can be deployed on various platforms, including z/OS, z/VM, zVSE/VSEn, UNIX, and Windows, providing flexibility in deployment options.
