Rocket Cortex-Prep

The architecture of Rocket Cortex-Prep is centered around several key components designed to provide robust batch job management on z/OS. The Job Preparation Engine is responsible for analyzing job dependencies and preparing jobs for execution. The Cortex-PDB Interface provides access to the Rocket Cortex-PDB, which stores job-related metadata, including restart points and dependencies.

The JCL Processor parses and validates JCL statements, ensuring correct syntax and parameters. The Restart Manager handles job recovery and rerun operations, leveraging the information stored in the Cortex-PDB to minimize downtime. Communication between components occurs through z/OS system services and standard protocols.

The Cortex-PDB utilizes a database structure optimized for storing and retrieving job metadata. Security is managed through the z/OS security system, such as RACF, providing role-based access control. The system uses JCL parameters and system configuration files for configuration.
