Product Overview

The architecture of SYSChange is designed for scalability, security, and ease of management. The main components include the Change Manager, Automation Engine, Monitoring Agent, and Audit Logger. The Change Manager acts as the central point for managing change requests, providing a user interface for submitting, approving, and tracking changes.

The Automation Engine executes the changes, using predefined scripts and configurations. The Monitoring Agent tracks the status of deployments and alerts administrators to any issues. The Audit Logger records all actions performed within the system, including user activities, change deployments, and system events.

Communication between components is primarily through TCP/IP and HTTPS. The Change Manager communicates with the Automation Engine to initiate deployments. The Monitoring Agent communicates with the Automation Engine to receive status updates.

The Audit Logger receives data from all components to record events. The system uses a relational database for storing configuration data and audit logs. The database is accessed via standard SQL interfaces.

The web console and CLI provide administrative interfaces for managing the system. Security is implemented through RBAC, with authentication via RACF and LDAP. Encryption is used to protect data in transit and at rest.

The system's modular design allows for easy integration with other z/OS components and third-party tools.
