Product Overview

The architecture of BMC AMI Storage StopX37/II is centered around three main components: the Abend Interceptor, the Rule Engine, and the Allocation Modifier. The Abend Interceptor is responsible for detecting and intercepting B37, D37, and E37 abends. It hooks into the z/OS system to monitor for these specific error conditions.

The Rule Engine processes site-defined rules to determine the appropriate action to take when an abend is detected. These rules are defined in configuration files and can specify actions such as increasing the space allocated to a dataset, retrying the job, or sending notifications. The Allocation Modifier interacts with the z/OS system to modify dataset allocation parameters based on the rules defined in the configuration files.

Communication between these components is primarily internal, using z/OS system services and interfaces. The product does not use external databases or storage mechanisms beyond the z/OS environment. There are no specific port or network requirements, as the product operates within the z/OS environment.

Security is managed through z/OS security features, such as RACF, to control access to the product's functions and configuration. Audit logging is available to track events and actions.
