Product Overview
The architecture of Systemware Content Workflow is centered around several key components: the Workflow Engine, Rule Engine, Content Router, and User Interface. The Workflow Engine is responsible for executing predefined workflows, which are defined using the administrative GUI. The Rule Engine evaluates conditions based on metadata and content properties to determine the routing path.
The Content Router then directs the content to the appropriate users or systems. Communication between components occurs primarily through internal APIs and database interactions. The system uses a relational database to store workflow definitions, rule configurations, and audit logs.
The database schema is designed to support complex workflow logic and efficient data retrieval. REST APIs are exposed for external integration, allowing other systems to initiate workflows, retrieve status updates, and manage content routing. Authentication is handled through LDAP and Kerberos, and access control is managed using RBAC.
The web-based GUI provides a comprehensive interface for administrators to configure workflows, manage users, and monitor system performance. The CLI offers additional options for automation and scripting. Compared to competing products, Systemware Content Workflow offers a more integrated solution within the Systemware ecosystem, providing a unified content management experience.
The system's design emphasizes scalability, security, and ease of use, making it a robust solution for automating content routing.
