TSF Automation Manager

The architecture of TSF Automation Manager is centered around three primary components: the Automation Engine, the Monitor, and the Task Scheduler. The Automation Engine is the core component responsible for executing predefined tasks. These tasks are defined in configuration files, which specify the actions to be taken.

The Monitor continuously tracks storage metrics, such as space utilization and dataset characteristics. It triggers actions when predefined thresholds are met. The Task Scheduler enables the automated execution of tasks at specified times or intervals.

Communication between components occurs through z/OS system services and internal control blocks. The Monitor and Task Scheduler interact with the Automation Engine to trigger actions. The system leverages the z/OS security infrastructure for authentication and access control, integrating with RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret.

The primary administrative interface is the z/OS console, with configuration managed through ISPF panels. The product utilizes z/OS logging and auditing facilities for comprehensive event tracking. The design emphasizes modularity and scalability to accommodate evolving storage management needs.
