Product Overview

The architecture of TVL Event Pump is designed for efficient z/OS system monitoring. The core components include the Event Collector, Event Router, and Data Forwarder. The Event Collector is responsible for gathering event data from various z/OS subsystems, such as CICS, IMS, and DB2.

It utilizes z/OS system APIs to collect this information. The Event Router processes and filters the collected events based on predefined rules, which are configured in configuration files. This component allows for the selection of relevant data and the filtering out of unnecessary information.

The Data Forwarder transmits the processed event data to external monitoring systems, such as Tivoli Business Service Manager. Communication protocols used for data transfer are standard z/OS protocols. The product does not have its own display screens.

The product's design prioritizes efficient data collection and forwarding, minimizing resource consumption. The product integrates with existing monitoring infrastructures by providing a stream of relevant event data. The product's primary function is to gather and forward event data, ensuring that critical system information is available for analysis and management within a broader monitoring framework.
