VPS/PDF

The architecture of VPS/PDF is designed to efficiently convert IBM AFP output to PDF documents within the z/OS environment. The main components are the AFP Input component, the Conversion Engine, and the PDF Output component. The AFP Input component reads AFP data from datasets.

Data storage is handled through z/OS datasets. The product does not expose a REST or SOAP API. Integration is achieved through JCL and batch processing.

Configuration files are used to define conversion settings, such as font mapping and image handling. The product leverages the z/OS security features, including access control and auditing. The main commands are START, SET, STOP, and PRINT.
