Adabas Review's architecture comprises several key components. The Review Collector is responsible for gathering performance data from the Adabas database. The Review Analyzer processes the collected data, providing insights into database activity.
The command-line interface (CLI) serves as the primary administrative interface for managing and configuring the monitoring process. Communication between components occurs through shared memory and internal system calls. The tool stores performance data in internal data structures, optimized for efficient analysis.
The main configuration parameters include data collection intervals, threshold settings, and the specification of which Adabas databases to monitor. The tool does not use external databases for storage. Network requirements are minimal, as the tool operates within the mainframe environment.
The CLI provides commands such as START REVIEW, STOP REVIEW, DISPLAY STATUS, and DISPLAY STATISTICS. Compared to other tools, Adabas Review offers specific insights into Adabas database behavior, focusing on the mainframe environment. It does not expose REST APIs, but it provides native integration within the mainframe environment.
