The architecture of CA IDMS/Performance Option comprises several key components designed to collect, process, and present performance data. The Data Collector is responsible for gathering performance metrics from the CA IDMS engine. This component monitors various aspects of database activity, including CPU usage, I/O operations, and transaction response times.
The Performance Monitor Engine processes the collected data, performing calculations and aggregations to provide meaningful insights. This engine also manages the storage of historical performance data. The Reporting and Analysis tools provide a user interface for viewing real-time statistics, generating reports, and analyzing historical trends.
The native API allows for programmatic access to performance data, enabling integration with other monitoring tools. Communication between components occurs through internal interfaces and data structures. The product utilizes the CA IDMS system dictionary for configuration and metadata storage.
