Product Overview

The architecture of Content Manager OnDemand is based on a client-server model, with several key components. The Library Server is the central component, responsible for managing metadata, indexing, and security. The Object Server manages the storage and retrieval of report objects.

The optional PDF Indexer provides indexing capabilities for PDF documents. The OnDemand Distribution Facility (ODF) handles report distribution. Communication between components occurs over TCP/IP.

The system uses Db2 for storing metadata and indexing information. The Object Server manages the storage of report objects, which can be stored in a file system or other storage mechanisms. The administrative interfaces (GUI and CLI) allow for configuration and management of the system.

The system supports RBAC for access control. The Enhanced Retention Manager allows for holding documents past their expiry dates. The Advanced Function Presentation Transformations (AFP2WEB, AFP2PDF, AFP2HTML, LINE2PDF) features are available for transforming line or AFP format files to HTML and PDF formats.
