The architecture of DB2 Audit Management Expert (DB2 AME) consisted of several key components. The Audit Engine was responsible for capturing database events and writing them to audit trails. The Reporting Module processed the audit data and generated reports based on predefined criteria.
The Configuration Component allowed administrators to define audit policies, configure reporting options, and manage user access. Communication between components was primarily internal, with data flowing from the Audit Engine to the reporting module. Audit data was stored within DB2 databases.
The system used a command-line interface (CLI) for administration. DB2 AME is not supported; IBM Security Guardium S-TAP is the recommended replacement. Guardium offers a more modern architecture with REST APIs and enhanced integration capabilities.
