Product Overview

DB2 DB/QUICKCHANGE's architecture comprised an ISPF-based user interface, interacting with DB2 on z/OS. The main components included the ISPF panels, the DB2 interface, and the z/OS security subsystem. The ISPF panels provided the user interface for selecting and specifying changes to database objects.

The DB2 interface handled the communication with the DB2 database, executing the requested modifications. The z/OS security subsystem, such as RACF, managed user authentication and authorization. The utility used no external configuration files; all settings were managed within the ISPF environment.

The DB2 Administration Tool is the recommended replacement, offering a more comprehensive set of features and a modern interface for managing DB2 databases.
