The architecture of Info/CPU is centered around three primary components: the Data Collector, the Analysis Engine, and the User Interface. The Data Collector resides on the z/OS system and gathers performance metrics related to CPU utilization and WLM. It communicates with the Analysis Engine via TCP/IP, transmitting raw data for processing.
The Analysis Engine processes the data, applying algorithms to identify performance bottlenecks and trends. It stores processed data in a local storage mechanism, optimized for quick retrieval. The User Interface, accessible via a web-based GUI and a command-line interface (CLI), presents the processed data to the user.
The CLI allows for scripting and automation of monitoring tasks. The system uses RACF for authentication and RBAC for access control. The API allows for integration with other z/OS tools.
The system logs all events and user actions for auditing and troubleshooting. The system's design prioritizes real-time data processing and efficient resource utilization.
