The architecture of MacKinney Print Transform is designed for efficient AFP conversion within a z/OS environment. Communication between components occurs through internal function calls and data structures within the z/OS address space. The software utilizes z/OS datasets for input and output, and configuration parameters are stored in JCL and configuration files. Security is managed through z/OS security features, such as RACF, ensuring that access to the software and its resources is controlled.

The software does not expose any external APIs. The primary network requirement is access to the z/OS mainframe. The software supports a wide range of AFP font types and accurately converts graphics, preserving the original image quality.
