ASI2LR's architecture comprises several key components designed for efficient data access and reporting from CA-IDMS databases on z/OS. The Data Access Layer (DAL) is responsible for interacting with the CA-IDMS database using LRF DML. This layer handles data retrieval, filtering, and transformation.
The SAS Integration Layer (SIL) provides the interface between ASI2LR and SAS procedures. It translates SAS requests into LRF DML queries and processes the results. The Configuration Manager (CM) manages the system's configuration files and settings, including database connection parameters and data access permissions.
The Reporting Engine (RE) is responsible for generating reports based on the data retrieved from CA-IDMS. It supports various report formats and customization options. Data flows from the CA-IDMS database through the DAL, then to the SIL, where it is processed by SAS procedures.
The RE then generates the reports. Communication between components uses TCP/IP for network connectivity. The system stores data within the CA-IDMS database.
The CM uses configuration files to manage settings. The SIL uses SAS procedures for data analysis and reporting. Security is handled through authentication and access control mechanisms.
Audit logging tracks user activities and system events. The architecture is designed for scalability and performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and report generation. The system's modular design allows for easy maintenance and updates.
The components work together to provide a comprehensive solution for accessing and reporting on CA-IDMS data within a SAS environment.
