Pacbase Migration

The architecture of Pacbase Migration is centered around three primary components: the Parser, the Translator, and the Code Generator. The Parser analyzes the Pacbase source code, identifying its structure and components. The Translator then converts the parsed code into an intermediate representation, applying mapping rules and data type conversions defined in configuration files.

These configuration files are crucial for customizing the migration process to meet specific application requirements. The Code Generator takes the intermediate representation and produces the final COBOL code. The tool uses a command-line interface (CLI) for execution, with commands like `migrate`, `analyze`, and `validate`.

The `migrate` command initiates the conversion process, taking source and target directories as parameters. The `analyze` command provides insights into the Pacbase code structure, and `validate` checks the generated COBOL code. The tool supports the migration of data structures and database interactions to the target COBOL environment.

The tool does not handle security or authentication directly; these are managed within the target COBOL application and underlying infrastructure. The tool's automated conversion process reduces the risk of human error, leading to higher-quality COBOL code.
