RA/8's architecture centers around three main components: the Command Processor, the RACF Interface, and the Reporting Engine. The Command Processor is responsible for parsing user input from the command-line interface (CLI) and validating commands. The RACF Interface interacts directly with the RACF database, performing operations such as adding, removing, and listing users and groups.

The Reporting Engine generates reports based on the data retrieved from the RACF database. Communication between these components is primarily internal, using z/OS system services. RA/8 uses the RACF database for storing user and group information.

The CLI provides commands like LISTUSER, ADDUSER, and REMOVEUSER. For example, `LISTUSER GROUP(groupname)` retrieves a list of users in a specified group. `ADDUSER user1 GROUP(groupname)` adds a user to a group.

`REMOVEUSER user1 GROUP(groupname)` removes a user from a group. The tool leverages the z/OS security environment for authentication, including password and MFA methods. The tool enhances security by ensuring accurate access control and supports compliance by providing detailed audit trails.
