SyzSPOOL/z

The SyzSPOOL/z architecture comprises three main components: the Archiver, the Viewer, and the ISPF interface. The Archiver is responsible for extracting data from the JES2 spool and writing it to sequential datasets. The Viewer provides the capability to browse and retrieve archived output.

The ISPF interface provides a user-friendly environment for managing archived data. The Archiver uses JES2 APIs to access spool data. It reads spool records and writes them to sequential datasets.

The Viewer uses ISPF services to display archived output. It retrieves data from the sequential datasets and presents it to the user. The ISPF interface allows users to search, filter, and manage archived data.

It provides options for archiving, viewing, and deleting output. The system uses sequential datasets for storing archived data. These datasets are managed through standard z/OS utilities.

Security is integrated with RACF for authentication and authorization. Audit logs record all user actions, including archive, view, and delete operations. The system supports various output formats, including text and PDF.

The communication between components is primarily through z/OS services and APIs. The Archiver and Viewer interact with the ISPF interface through ISPF dialogs. The system does not require any specific network ports.
