The architecture of Tivoli Omegamon XE for DB2 Performance Monitor is a 3-tier design. The first tier consists of monitoring agents that run on the z/OS operating system. These agents collect performance data from the Db2 subsystems.
The second tier is the monitoring server, which processes the data collected by the agents. The server aggregates, analyzes, and stores the data. The third tier is the user interface, which provides access to the performance data.
The agents communicate with the monitoring server using TCP/IP. The monitoring server uses a relational database, such as DB2, to store historical performance data. The user interface is typically an ISPF panel or a web-based console.
Key components include the OMEGAMON for DB2 agent, the monitoring server, and the user interface. The product does not support a REST API. The primary configuration is done through PARMGEN.
The product is no longer supported; migrate to IBM OMEGAMON for Db2 Performance Expert.
