The XOMT architecture comprised several key components: the Monitor Task, the Data Collector, and the Reporting Engine. The Monitor Task was responsible for collecting real-time performance data from the CA IDMS database. The Data Collector processed this data, calculating metrics such as response times, transaction rates, and buffer pool utilization.
The Reporting Engine generated reports and provided historical data analysis. Communication between components occurred through z/OS internal communication mechanisms. The primary storage mechanism was the z/OS system's memory and log files.
The administrative interface was primarily the z/OS console, where commands like `XOMT START`, `XOMT STOP`, and `DISPLAY` were used. XOMT did not have a GUI or web console. XOMT is no longer supported; CMMT offers similar functionality.
