z/MQCACM

The architecture of z/MQCACM comprises several key components designed to provide robust control over WebSphere MQ channel auto-creation. The Policy Engine is the core component, responsible for evaluating channel creation requests against a set of predefined policies. These policies are defined in configuration files, which are managed by the Configuration Manager.

The Configuration Manager provides the interface for defining, modifying, and deploying these policies. The Audit Logger is another critical component, responsible for logging all channel creation events, including successful creations and denied attempts. The Audit Logger provides detailed information about each event, such as the user ID, channel name, and the reason for any denial.

The communication between these components is primarily internal, using z/OS system services and MQ APIs. The product does not use a separate database; it relies on the MQ environment and z/OS facilities for data storage and management. Network requirements include access to the MQ environment and the z/OS system.

The CLI provides the primary administrative interface for managing the system. z/MQCACM's architecture is focused on providing a lightweight, efficient solution for channel control, differentiating it from more complex security solutions.
