The AutoOPERATOR architecture was centered around an Automation Engine, which processed events and triggered actions based on predefined rules. The Event Monitor collected events from various sources, including SMF records, console messages, and system logs. The Action Processor executed the actions specified in the rules, such as issuing commands or sending notifications.
Configuration was primarily through ISPF panels and configuration files. Communication between components used z/OS internal mechanisms. There were no external APIs.
The product is not supported. MAINVIEW AutoOperator offers a more modern architecture with REST APIs and enhanced integration capabilities.
