The architecture of CDB/Auto-Online Unload is centered around several key components designed to facilitate efficient and online data extraction from Db2 databases. The Unload Engine is the core component, responsible for coordinating the entire unload process. It interacts with the Data Extractor, which retrieves data from the Db2 database based on the specifications defined in the control files.
The Format Processor then transforms the extracted data into the specified output format, such as DSNTIAUL or Archive. The Control File Manager handles the reading and parsing of control files, which contain the configuration parameters for the unload operation, including database connection details, data selection criteria, and output format specifications. The Logging and Monitoring module provides detailed logs of all operations, including start and end times, data volumes processed, and any errors encountered.
Communication between these components is primarily internal, using standard Db2 protocols for database interaction. The product does not expose any external APIs. The system uses standard Db2 protocols, including TCP/IP, for network connectivity to the Db2 server.
Security is managed through the Db2 security model, including role-based access control (RBAC).
