DYL/INTERFACE

The architecture of DYL/INTERFACE comprised several key components designed to facilitate the interaction between DYL/280 programs and DB2 databases on z/OS. The main components included a connection manager, a SQL parser, and a data transfer module. The connection manager handled the establishment and maintenance of connections to DB2.

The SQL parser translated SQL statements from DYL/280 programs into a format that DB2 could understand. The data transfer module managed the movement of data between the DYL/280 program and the DB2 database. Communication between these components likely occurred through internal interfaces and system calls within the z/OS environment.

DYL/INTERFACE utilized DB2 as its primary storage mechanism. Network requirements included connectivity to the DB2 instance, typically through TCP/IP. Administrative interfaces were likely limited, with configuration primarily managed through JCL and system parameters.

User management was handled through the z/OS security infrastructure. The product did not expose REST or SOAP APIs. It focused on native integration within the z/OS environment.

DYL/INTERFACE is not supported. Its functionality is now integrated into CA Vision:Results. For DB2 access, migrate to CA Vision:Results.
