Product Overview

The architecture of the IMS High Performance Change Accumulation Utility is centered around the batch processing of IMS database image copies and change logs. The main components include the JCL processor, the image copy reader, the log data applier, and the image copy writer. The JCL processor is responsible for parsing the JCL input, which defines the input image copies, log datasets, and output image copy datasets.

The image copy reader reads the input image copy data from DASD or other storage devices. The log data applier reads the change records from the log datasets and applies these changes to the image copy data. The image copy writer then writes the updated image copy to the output dataset.

The communication between these components is managed through the z/OS operating system. The utility uses standard IMS interfaces for reading and writing data. The utility runs as a batch job on the z/OS platform.

The utility does not expose any APIs. Security is managed through the z/OS security infrastructure, such as RACF. The utility interacts with IMS databases through standard IMS interfaces.

The utility's functionality is accessed through JCL-based batch jobs. The utility uses DASD or other storage devices for storing image copies and logs. The utility does not have any specific network requirements.
