Product Overview

The architecture of Infoprint Coaxial Printer Support comprised several key components. The Print Interface received print jobs, the Print Server managed the print queues and job processing, and the transform components converted data streams for the target printers. Communication between these components occurred through z/OS facilities and the coaxial connection to the printer.

The system utilized configuration files to define printer characteristics, including device addresses, data stream conversion options, and other printer-specific settings. The Print Interface accepted print jobs from various sources, such as applications and other systems. The Print Server managed the print queues, scheduling print jobs for processing.

The transform components converted the data streams into a format compatible with the target printer. The system used the SNA protocol for communication with the printers. The administrative interface provided tools for configuring printers, managing print queues, and monitoring print jobs.

Because this product is no longer supported, users should migrate to alternative printing solutions that offer modern architectures and enhanced features.
