Intercept-MVS

The Intercept-MVS architecture is designed for high-volume EDI processing on z/OS. The core components include the Translation Engine, Format Validator, and Communication Manager. The Translation Engine is the central component, responsible for converting EDI files between different standards.

It uses configuration files, which define the mapping rules for each translation. The Format Validator ensures that the input and output files conform to the specified EDI standards, reducing data errors. The Communication Manager handles file transfers using protocols such as FTP and SFTP, enabling secure data exchange.

These components interact through z/OS datasets for input and output. The system uses JCL for job control and configuration. The configuration files are stored as datasets and are accessed by the Translation Engine during processing.

The system's design supports batch processing, allowing for efficient handling of large volumes of EDI transactions. The system's logging capabilities provide detailed information about each translation and file transfer operation. The system does not expose APIs directly, but it can be integrated through JCL and batch jobs.

The main commands include `TRANSLATE`, `SEND`, and `RECEIVE`. The system's architecture is optimized for the z/OS environment, providing high performance and reliability.
