Product Overview
The 3780Link architecture consists of several key components: the emulation engine, the BSC communication module, and the file transfer interface. The emulation engine simulates the behavior of an IBM 2780/3780 terminal, handling the terminal emulation aspects. The BSC communication module manages the Binary Synchronous Communications protocol, ensuring reliable data transfer over the network.
The file transfer interface provides the means for Windows applications to send and receive files to and from the mainframe. These components interact to facilitate the file transfer process. The product does not expose a direct API for external integration.
Communication occurs over BSC, and the SNA Server product handles the network connection. The SNA Server also provides security features, including authentication and encryption. , file naming conventions, record formats).
The SNA Server provides monitoring and logging capabilities. 3780Link's architecture is designed to provide a straightforward solution for file transfer between Windows and mainframe environments.
