The architecture of LegacyAda/390 is centered around a compiler, linker, runtime libraries, and debugging tools. The compiler translates Ada source code into object code. The linker combines object files and necessary libraries to create an executable.
The runtime libraries provide support for program execution. The debugger allows source-level debugging, including setting breakpoints and inspecting variables. The compilation process typically involves the 'ada -c' command to compile source files and the 'ada' command to link object files.
Configuration is managed through configuration files that specify compiler options, include paths, and library locations. Security relies on the underlying z/OS or z/VM security mechanisms, such as RACF, for authentication and access control. Audit logging is handled by the operating system.
The system does not have a dedicated GUI, relying on the TSO/E command line and system utilities for administration.
