Natural Security

The architecture of Natural Security comprises several key components: the Security Kernel, the User Management module, the Resource Management module, and the Audit Logging module. The Security Kernel is the core component, responsible for enforcing security policies and managing access control. The User Management module handles user authentication and authorization, including user account creation, modification, and deletion.

The Resource Management module allows administrators to define and manage protected resources, such as Natural programs, data areas, and files. The Audit Logging module records security-related events, providing a detailed audit trail for security monitoring and incident response. Communication between components occurs through internal APIs and system calls.

The system uses an access control list (ACL) model to manage permissions. The product supports various authentication methods, including user ID/password and integration with external authentication systems like RACF or ACF2. Configuration is managed through a command-line interface (CLI) and potentially a graphical user interface (GUI).

The system stores configuration data and audit logs in system files or databases, depending on the implementation. Network requirements are minimal, as the system operates within the mainframe environment.
