NCCF

NCCF's architecture comprised several key components. The NCCF application itself provided the user interface and command processing. VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications Access Method) served as the underlying network access method, handling SNA protocol communications.

The z/OS operating system provided the execution environment and system services. Communication between NCCF and VTAM occurred through z/OS system calls and VTAM APIs. NCCF utilized VTAM configuration files for network definitions and control files for its own settings.

NCCF did not use any dedicated databases; it relied on the z/OS file system for storing logs and configuration data. Network requirements included connectivity to VTAM and the SNA network. The system used a command-line interface for interaction.

NCCF's primary function was to provide a centralized point for network management tasks, including monitoring and control of SNA networks. NCCF has been integrated into IBM Z NetView, which offers a more comprehensive network management solution.
