OCA-TCPIP

The architecture of OCA-TCPIP is centered around three primary components: the OCA Listener, the Socket Handler, and the IDMS Application Interface. The OCA Listener is responsible for accepting incoming TCP/IP connections. It listens on a configured port and IP address, managing the initial handshake and connection establishment.

The Socket Handler then processes the socket requests, managing the sending and receiving of data. This component interacts with the IDMS Application Interface to pass data to and from the CA IDMS application. The IDMS Application Interface provides the bridge between the network and the CA IDMS application.

It handles the interaction with the CA IDMS environment, including data retrieval and storage. The communication flow begins with an external system initiating a connection to the OCA Listener. The Listener then passes the connection to the Socket Handler, which interacts with the IDMS Application Interface.

The IDMS Application Interface then calls the appropriate CA IDMS routines to process the data. Security is provided by SSL/TLS, which encrypts the data transmitted over the network. The configuration parameters include the network port, IP addresses, and security settings.

Monitoring and logging are integrated with CA IDMS and z/OS tools.
