The architecture of Omegamon II for CICS comprised several key components designed to monitor and analyze CICS performance. The main components included the CICS Interface, the Data Collector, the Display Facility, and the ISPF Interface. The CICS Interface intercepted CICS events and collected performance data.
The Data Collector processed this data, aggregating and formatting it for analysis. The Display Facility presented the data to users through drop-down screens and graphical displays. The ISPF Interface provided the primary user interface for accessing the monitoring data and issuing commands.
Communication between components occurred through internal z/OS mechanisms, such as cross-memory services and shared memory. The product used VSAM for storing historical data. Configuration was managed through PARMLIB members, which defined monitoring parameters, thresholds, and display options.
The product did not expose external APIs. The product is not supported; users should migrate to Omegamon XE for CICS.
